The WALC project seeks to sensibilize a large audience, drawing attention to natural and rural areas and to walking as an art form, and creating alternatives for and in parallel to established art forms and art venues. We do not want large public events that disrupt the social fabric or destroy the vulnerable nature, for this reason, we give great importance to an elaborate digital and online ecosystem with extensive features and applications exploring the potential of digital space and digital venues in the context of natural and outdoor spaces and venues and walking arts, to be developed by WLC.  This will not only allow the project to reach large audiences but also to contribute to the innovation of natural art venues and their communities, bringing them into virtual space.

The online platform is an online community – an online and interactive and crowd sourced meeting space with user profiles, posts, events, announcements, agendas, newsletters, along with an archive including all the walking art produced during WALC.

Available from the last trimester of 2024, this ecosystem will complement the offline events, adding training and workshops for the artists, cultural professionals and local communities.

As an online space it will capture the progress of the WALC project and attract new partners and artists, to give online sustainability and continuity for the WALC project complementing to its physical events.

Importance is given as well to virtual reality and locative media -as an emerging discipline in contemporary arts- with parallel collaborative creation processes with newly developed software integrating space, place and movement, digital mapping and augmented reality, the latter via CGeomap. (https://cgeomap.eu/).

These ew technologies integrate in WALC virtual reality and digital media installations bringing distant territories and their walkers in the same hybrid space, elaborated by Gigacircus (https://gigacircus.net/fr).
